Sujata Sethi was born in 2006 into a world that quickly became filled with challenges. Her father, paralyzed, could not provide for the family, leaving her mother to carry the heavy burden of supporting them. Just a year and a half after her birth, Sujata’s life took a critical turn when she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. The little girl was sent to Bangalore for surgery—a procedure that saved her life but slowed her growth and development.

Despite these hardships, Sujata's story is one of resilience. In 2012, she was discovered by Vikash's staff, who found her fully dependent on her mother for even the most basic daily tasks. Recognizing her potential, they provided her with the support of a special educator, along with ADL training. Through sheer determination, Sujata began to improve, taking small steps toward independence. The UDID certificate and pension she received marked not just recognition of her struggles, but of her courage. Today, Sujata continues to push herself, not only learning to care for herself but also dreaming of a day when she can support her family, just as they have supported her. Her journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
